NORTHERN CALIFORNIA FILM FESTIVAL RULES
1. All entries must be the original work of the submitters.
2. Entries may be of any genre.
3. Short Entries in any category may not exceed 30 minutes in length, including all titles and credits.
4. Feature entries in Fiction or Documentary categories include any film longer than 30 minutes.
5. All submissions must include entry form and completed film. Submissions must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2011 for early deadline fee, July 1, 2011 for regular deadline fee or October 1, 2011 for late deadline fee. Only digital DVD Region 0 or 1 NTSC submissions will be accepted.
6. A film may be of any genre or format - experimental, comedy, drama, horror, science fiction, etc. Documentary entries may be on any subject.
7. Music Videos may be of any type of music including tribute artists. A release of rights must be included with all music videos establishing either that the music is original or that rights have been obtained for covers.
8. All films are subject to being excerpted for promotional purposes. All films may be exhibited for press.
9. Selected films will be contacted on or about November 1, 2011. Finalists in each category will need to submit 3 judging copies of the completed film with full titles and credits. Films will not be returned.
10. All submissions are subject to selection for inclusion on the NORTHERN CALIFORNIA FILM FESTIVAL DVD (if produced) without compensation to any filmmaker or participant. Entry constitutes a release for inclusion on this DVD and declaration that all rights and releases have been obtained by the filmmaker. If requested, copies of releases will be provided to The Fireside Foundation, Inc. Filmmaker team will be provided with a maximum of 5 copies of the DVD at no cost. Additional copies may be purchased from either the Northern California Film Festival website or the Fireside Foundation website. All proceeds will benefit the Fireside Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
