Who we are:
The NORTHERN CALIFORNIA FILM FESTIVAL (NORCALFILMFEST) is a presentation of the FIRESIDE FOUNDATION, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of independent film through education and exhibition. The Foundation is a registered Federally recognized 501(c)(3) organization and operates several education programs related to film and photography, in addition to the Northern California Film Festival (www.NorCalFilmFest.net), the organization also operates the California International Animation Festival (www.CalAniFest.com), the Kids with Cameras Film and Photo Festival (www.KidswithCameras.com) and the internationally acclaimed ShockerFest International Film Festival (www.ShockerFest.net).
Educational programs include the Kids with Cameras program and the Senior Stories program, each providing training in the use of camera equipment and assistance in the development of photographic and film skills and techniques.
The Fireside Foundation, Inc., was founded by Dr. George A. Baker and Louise E. Baker in 2002, although they had been working in these areas since 1997. Louise Baker is the President and CEO of the organization.
Dr. Baker is the Festival coordinator and Director.
